As a branch of viscose fiber, bamboo fiber has also encountered some bottleneck problems in spinnability, such as large static electricity generated during spinning, high knot rate, and high end breakage rate. In the second half of 2008, when the financial crisis caused serious losses to many enterprises in the industry, Jigao chemical fiber seized the historical opportunity to gradually withdraw from the traditional 1.5D viscose staple fiber market and devote its energy to bamboo fiber production. In December, 2009, Jilin Chemical Fiber Group signed an investment agreement with Jiang'an County, Sichuan Province. Sichuan Tianzhu, a subsidiary of Jilin chemical fiber, will move to Yangchun Industrial Park in Jiang'an County as a whole, and build a 100000 ton/year bamboo pulp and 60000 ton/year viscose staple fiber project with a total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan. The first phase, with an investment of about 500million yuan, plans to build a 50000 ton/year chemical fiber bamboo pulp, which is planned to start construction in April 2010
